This antiphon conforms to the source but just sounds WEIRD. Do we change it for a formulaic one? Added Rsigns accoding to mora vocis.
It's absolutely normal it sounds weird. And this, for two reasons : • The Antverpen tradition always begins on E (or D) this kind of ANT called 4A antiphon. The Antverpen Tradition is affiliated to the Arras tradition (see my article on Musicologie Médiévale : https://gregorian-chant.ning.com/group/restitutions_melodiques/forum/topics/tradition-particuliere-des-antiennes-en-4a-dans-la-region-d-arras). Therefore, for reasons of coherence, it should be better to intone it in A, and with B natural at "PIscis" and at "ET". • "ET TRAHE" is not in accordance with the 4A formulas. It has been such composed because of tradition of the Renaissance which wanted to lengthen the accented syllables, and, in this case, in favor of "TRAhe"
